A New, Convenient Way to Camp

Innovative tent attaches to the cargo area of an SUV, allowing access for additional sleeping space.

Looking for an inexpensive way to camp? Why not use your SUV as the base for a comfortable arrangement for you, your family and your gear? The new Sportz SUV Tent 84000 from Napier Enterprises is a 10- by 10-foot tent that provides a sleeping area for five to six people, and is supplemented by the additional space provided by the vehicle. The patented vehicle “sleeve” fits hundreds of CUVs, SUVs and minivans, and it features a 7- by 6-foot screen room for bug-free dining or storage.

So what do you do when you need to use the SUV as a vehicle? No issue, camper. The sleeve is easily removed, leaving a freestanding tent. When space is limited, the screen room can be easily detached so the tent can be used by itself. There is plenty of ventilation with two large entrance doors, three large mesh windows, a cyclone venting system and two skylights, which all have storm flaps that close for privacy. A full-length tape-seamed rain fly and GoBe Dry bathtub-style floor keeps occupants dry, even in the wettest weather. When the trip is over, the tent comes down as fast as it went up and stores away easily in an expandable carrying bag. It’s a great option for family camping, fishing, hunting and off-roading. Plus, it’s less expensive than the cheapest RV: It retails for less than $350.
