Ferrari to Host Winter Driving School

2012 Winter Driving Experience will be a first for Ferrari in North America.

When you think of winter driving, you don’t typically think of Ferrari. In fact, to some it might seem sacrilegious to subject a beautiful, hand-built Ferrari to the rigors of salt- and snow-encrusted roads. But Ferrari has been the car of choice for the Pilota on Ice programs that are offered in Italy, so Ferrari North America has decided to offer a similar program here. The two-day course is scheduled to launch in January, and sessions will run until the early spring. The course has been specifically developed with the Ferrari FF in mind to highlight the versatility and functionality of the all-new four-seat Ferrari model.

As you might guess, Ferrari has chosen a world-renowned resort city as the venue. Aspen, Colo., offers the perfect backdrop for the custom-made snow-and-ice course that Ferrari will build to showcase the FF model’s potent abilities in less-than-perfect conditions. The new GT is the premiere vehicle for the Ferrari-designed 4RM all-wheel drive system, which enables the FF to retain the sporty and dynamic driving characteristics that are typical of a Ferrari, and provide the added traction that is necessary in low-grip situations.

Participating Ferrari owners will take part in snow-and-ice driving exercises using a fleet of eight specially prepared FFs. The course is aimed at elevating the drivers’ skills in challenging conditions that would test the mettle of any car. The upside is that all this will take place in the context of a three-day, two-night stay in one of the most beautiful areas of the North American Rockies. Information on guest services -- as well as answers to questions about the program -- can be acquired through the Ferrari Concierge at 866-551-2828 or on ExperienceFerrari.com
